Heather Klausa is a painter based in Downers Grove, working from her studio at MAKEart Studios—a space grounded in her own creative practice, where she also teaches a small number of classes. Her work moves between painting, hand lettering, and commissioned pieces, with an emphasis on strong composition, material sensitivity, and work that holds up over time.

Her background in art education informs her process, but the studio remains a place for making first. That focus carries through in everything she produces, from original paintings to custom client work and hand-lettered details.
