Based upon a snail that my son named “Michael;” my family and I observed this guy for a crazy amount of time while taking a break from hiking in the Smoky Mountains.

Starting with a sketch, I make a drawing that is transferred to a soft rubber block. I hand carve my original drawing and then print using high quality pigmented inks on acid free art paper. Item comes matted in protective plastic sleeve.

Based upon a friendly cardinal that came to our bird feeder daily during the Winter months. We have a bird feeder that sits directly outside our dining room window and it’s a common sitting and observing spot for our entire family. Our family all looked forward to the daily visits from a fairly bold and inquisitive pair of cardinals. This print was made from observations of the male cardinal that would join us for pancakes most mornings.

We all watch in anticipation as caterpillar turns to chrysalis and emerges as a unique butterfly. My daughter named this particular male Monarch butterfly, “Tennessee”, before watching him take his inaugural flight.
