MANIPULATING NATURE

Monday-Thursday, July 22nd-25th

Join us for a full dose of art, four days in a row. Each session will investigate nature through classic art practices such as drawing, painting, and building as well as traditional and non traditional crafts.   Students will also be exposed to art history, work independently and collaboratively.
Small group instruction (min. 5 for each class to run, maximum 8)

All sessions run Monday, July 22nd-25th
Session 1: Creepy Crawlies and Winged Beauties 
Students entering fourth-sixth grade in the Fall
9:00-11:15 Monday-Thursday

Join us to learn composition and color theory as well as participate in a wide variety of traditional and non traditional crafts. Within the week students can expect to draw, paint, print, and build with a focus on the story line of life cycles of insects

Session 2: Bug Behavior
Students entering sixth-eighth in the Fall

12:30-2:45 Tuesday-Friday
Join a group of like minded teens and  participate in a wide variety of traditional and non traditional crafts and art practices. Within the week students can expect to print, experiment with mosaics, create large sculptures, and mount real insects as well as respond visually to student led topics surrounding insects and scientific illustration.

*Families that register for two or more of the creative play and make sessions (siblings included) will receive a $50 gift certificate for future classes or workshops sent by email after registration.
